Se consolida Loreto como destino turístico mundial

El Gobierno del Estado será un fuerte aliado de todas aquéllos desarrollos que compartan el interés de aprovechar de manera racional nuestras riquezas naturales, pues “el progreso de Baja California Sur no será posible sin el uso adecuado de sus recursos”, precisó el gobernador Carlos Mendoza Davis, al presidir junto con el director general del Fondo de Fomento al Turismo Fonatur, Miguel Alonso Reyes y la alcaldesa Arely Arce Peralta la develación de la placa “Earthcheck” en reconocimiento a las prácticas sustentables del desarrollo turístico Nopoló, en Loreto.
En el marco de una gira de trabajo por el municipio de Loreto, realizaron diversos recorridos a las zonas turísticas como Puerto Escondido y Nopoló en donde supervisaron las acciones y proyectos que el gobierno del Estado y Fonatur llevan a cabo para promover el desarrollo de la zona.
Mendoza Davis señaló que la actual administración trabaja en la implementación de políticas públicas encaminadas a generar desarrollo sustentable, ordenado y responsable que se traduzca en mayores beneficios para las familias sudcalifornianas y en ese sentido reconoció los esfuerzos que se realizan no solo para posicionar a Loreto como un destino de calidad internacional; sino que también lo distingan por tener empresas que cuidan y respetan el entorno ecológico.
“Loreto se ha convertirlo en palanca del desarrollo turístico, ya que está considerado dentro de los destinos más visitados del país, donde tan solo de enero a julio han sido 21 mil 800 visitantes en lo que va del año”, señaló.
El jefe del ejecutivo reiteró su reconocimiento a FONATUR por el logró de esta certificación que se otorga tras una exhaustiva evaluación de ocho distintas áreas del desarrollo, como son la implementación de una política de desarrollo sustentable, cuidado del agua, consumo de energía, manejo de desperdicios, consumo de papel, uso de pesticidas, uso de productos de limpieza e higiene y compromisos con la comunidad.
Finalmente, el director general de FONATUR Miguel Alonso reconoció el esfuerzo que en materia de infraestructura y servicios urbanos realizan gobiernos estatal y municipal, así como la sociedad, academia e iniciativa privada para alcanzar los estándares internacionales de sustentabilidad que a su vez los obliga a alinearlos a la Agenda 2030 para mejor calidad de vida de los habitantes de la región.
