209 competidores registran su llegada antes del cierre de la carrera de Off Road Baja 1000

En un ambiente familiar, este sábado 20 de noviembre llegó a su fin la edición 54 de la internacional carrera de off road Score Baja 1000, que dejó cifras históricas,al registrar el arribo a la meta de 209 de los 302 equipos de 18 países que se inscribieron en las diferentes categorías de motos y vehículos, lo que representa el 70%, entre ellos, 60 equipos sudcalifornianos, dijo la secretaria de Turismo, Economía y Sustentabilidad (SETUES) del gobierno estatal, Maribel Collins Sánchez.
Durante la premiación, se entregaron trofeos a la dupla de Rob Mac Cachren y Luck McMillin, campeones dela categoría Trophy Truck haciendo el menor tiempo con 20.45.58 horas de recorrido, mientras que “Tavo”Vildósola con 21.18.46 se quedó con la segunda posición y Cameron Steele con 21.25.59. En la categoría de motos, Mark Samuels registró el menor tiempo con 23.07.18 horas seguido de Derek Ausserbauer 25.08. 24 horas y Jason Alosi con 25.08.24 horas.
En el marco de este evento, se contó con la presencia del representante del secretario de Turismo, Miguel Torruco Marqués, el director de desarrollo de turismo de naturaleza de la SECTUR Maestro Serafín Montales García; del Vicealmirante Rosendo Carlos Márquez Díaz, comandante de la II Zona Naval; la alcaldesa de La Paz, Milena Quiroga Romero; delsubsecretario general de gobierno Omar ZavalaAgúndez; así como de Roger Norman, CEO de Score International; del director general del INSUDE, Gilberto Garciglia y el subsecretario de protección civil Benjamín García.
En representación del gobernador del estado Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío, la titular de la SETUES Maribel Collins, hizo entrega de la Copa Gobernador a “Tavo”Vildósola, por ser el primer mexicano en cruzar la metaen la edición 54; este reconocimiento se instituyócomo motivación a los corredores mexicanos por el gran esfuerzo que realizan.
La realización de estos eventos a Baja California Sur,registra una derrama económica muy importante en diferentes sectores, tales como hoteles, gasolineras, restaurantes, tiendas de conveniencia y comercios, los cuales incrementaron sus ventas desde los primeros recorridos que hicieron los equipos; con los reflectores puestos en nuestro estado, se potencializa la llegada de más turistas a tierra sudcaliforniana, señaló la secretaria de la SETUES.
Maribel Collins agradeció la coordinación de los tres niveles de gobierno, pero sobre todo a la sociedad sudcaliforniana, por el trabajo realizado y por la responsabilidad con la que se condujeron durante estos días, que hoy arrojan saldo blanco en toda la jornada de la SCORE Baja 1000 La Paz 2021.
