Los Cabos, Baja California Sur (BCS).– En las primeras horas del sábado 26 de septiembre se recibió un reporte en el Centro de Operaciones del Organismo sobre una gran fuga de agua potable en la calle Forjadores de la colonia Santa Rosa en San José del Cabo, donde el personal en turno de OOMSAPAS Los Cabos se presentó para realizar los trabajos de reparación correspondientes.
Al respecto, el director de Operación y Mantenimiento del Organismo, Ismael Rodríguez Piña, explicó que la fuga de agua potable se debe a un accidente automovilístico que dañó por completo la válvula de expulsión del Acueducto II, por lo que fue necesario parar los 9 pozos de producción del Acueducto II y a la vez toda la operación de esa importante línea de conducción de agua hacia la delegación de Cabo San Lucas.
Rodríguez Piña informó que para poder realizar la reparación, se tuvo que detener la operación del Acueducto, afectando el suministro de agua para las colonias de San José del Cabo, entre ellas: San José Viejo, El Zacatal, Santa Rosa, Guaymitas, Pablo L. Martínez, Rosarito, Monte Real, Colinas, Colinas Plus, Luis Donaldo Colosio, Country del Mar, Chamizal, Magisterial, así como el Corredor Turístico.
Para concluir, el director de Operación y Mantenimiento dio a conocer que la reparación la realizaron en un tiempo de 6 horas aproximadamente, sin embargo, el suministro de agua a las colonias tardó alrededor de 12 horas por el trabajo previo que se realiza para activar los pozos de producción y para meter presión al Acueducto.
