Lograr un mayor acercamiento ciudadano de los programas de medicina preventiva es un aspecto que ha priorizado la Secretaría de Salud de la entidad, con la premisa de proteger el bienestar de los sudcalifornianos mediante la aplicación de vacunas contra enfermedades como la influenza.
Así lo estableció la subdirectora de Atención Médica Ambulatoria, Elizabeth Alvarado Rodríguez durante una feria de servicios que la institución desarrolló en la colonia El Mezquitito de esta ciudad capital, donde se ofreció esta protección a las familias como parte de las acciones enfocadas en prevenir enfermedades respiratorias durante la temporada invernal.
Alvarado Rodríguez indicó que la vacuna suministrada este año fue producida para combatir las cepas del virus A H1N1, A H3N2 y tipo B, al explicar que la influenza es una enfermedad contagiosa que puede tener complicaciones en personas con factores de enfermedades crónicas y en situaciones especiales que empeoren los síntomas.
En este sentido enfatizó que esta inmunización se otorga de manera prioritaria a pacientes con diabetes, hipertensión, obesidad o enfermedad cardiovascular, pero también en adultos mayores, mujeres embarazadas, niños desde seis meses y hasta cinco años de edad, al puntualizar su llamado a la ciudadanía para que acuda a la brevedad a la unidad de salud más cercana para recibir la vacuna.
