Se llevo a cabo el Torneo Internacional de katesurf “Lord of the Wind”

Por quinta ocasió, la playa de Los Barriles al sur de la capital fue sede del torneo de Kitesurf “El Señor del viento” o ” Lord of the wind”,
Por los fuertes vientos de esta época se celebra en esta zona conocida también como Cabo del Este.
Steve uno de los organizadores del evento comentó que “Como cada año las ráfagas de viento, son propicias para la práctica de algunos deportes extremos como el Kite surf, extremo el cual ya se ha consolidado como una de las practicas favoritas de visitantes al estado”.
Felipe Valdés coordinador del evento “Lord of the Wind” hizo mención en que la zona de “Los barriles es conocido a nivel mundial, está entre los 5 mejores lugares para practicar Kitesurf , viene mucha gente de fuera, ya es un evento conocido a nivel internacional, los competidores lo buscan y nos acompañan de muchos países”
El Kitesurf consta de acrobacias en el mar sobre una tabla, contempla cuatro disciplinas: Slalom, Boarder Cross, Freestyle y Big Air.
“a partir del mes de diciembre empiezan los vientos del noreste, y el promedio de estos aires son 10 a 15 millas por hora, es la velocidad correcta, la posición en la que está ubicada la bahía, como está el pueblo, la playa, el aire pega de lado entonces hace idónea la playa para esto”
Al evento acudieron importantes exponentes de este deporte extremo como Kerneur Julien, campeón mundial en 2012; el norteamericano Brian Lake, campeón mundial en 2013; Cynthia Brown, la mejor mujer del mundo en esta disciplina, además de la presencia de Alex Aguerra, Joey Pasquilli, entre otras estrellas deportivas.
Uno de los competidores Juan Pablo Tron dijo que su estrategia es
“Competir con profesionales y más grandes, entran los nervios, claro las preocupaciones que no vayas a pasar, pero es padrísimo ver a ellos competir al lado de ti, y se siente padre por que los admiraba yo de mas chiquito y pues ya poco a poquito vamos a su nivel”
Los Barriles, a 150km de la Paz Baja California Sur alguna vez fue un tranquilo poblado de pescadores, de diciembre a marzo se convierte en cede de aventureros y amantes de emociones fuertes y por su puesto el evento acua-extremo más importante del año.
